Massage therapy in Canford Heath: supporting & guiding you out of pain
Sports Massage Therapy
You don’t need to be sporty or training for a race to benefit from sports massage. It will help you if you’re dealing with injury, or even just feeling the effects of an active – or inactive – lifestyle.
I combine evidence-based soft-tissue techniques with tailored exercise guidance to target the specific demands your body faces. I’ll help reduce pain and tension, restore movement, and support long-term performance.
Every session is built around you: your life, your body, and your goals.
What Sports Massage Can Help With
Massage helps calm the nervous system, which supports your body and helps with:
- Muscle soreness and tightness from training or competition
- Overuse injuries and recurring niggles
- Restricted movement and stiffness
- Issues resulting from active or sedentary working practices
- Post-event recovery and pre-event preparation
- Stress and fatigue carried in the body
- Reducing stress and promoting deep relaxation
Why I Include Self-Help Exercises
Hands-on treatment gets you out of pain - and the right simple-but-effective movements will help keep you there. I'll give you easy, targeted exercises to do between our sessions. It helps prevent recurring issues and support long-term progress towards your performance or recovery goals.

About Jules, your Sports Massage Therapist
My Journey: From Pain to Performance
I've been a Martial Artist for 26 years, specialising in Muay Thai and Filipino Martial Arts. But my path into therapy began 15 years ago, during a five-year battle with lower back pain.
An MRI revealed a central L5/S1 prolapsed disc that looked "black" and degenerative. I was convinced my spine was damaged and I would never be able to train properly again.
Everything changed when I found a Pilates and Sports Massage Therapist who introduced me to modern pain science. I learned my scan results were a normal part of ageing, like "grey hair for the spine", and my pain was about sensitivity, not permanent damage. In fact, months of rest had actually made things worse. When I returned to training, building hip mobility and strength, and understanding what my body actually needed, I got my life back.
That was six years ago. Today I'm back to full fitness and a certified M.K.G. International Associate Instructor.
My Approach & Qualifications: Where Massage Meets Movement
I'm a Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist and an affiliate member of the Sports Therapy Association (STA). I'm also currently studying for my Level 5 Movement Therapy Diploma. It's what allows me to bridge hands-on treatment with the movement education that creates lasting change.
Every session is tailored to you. I always work with your history and what your body needs in mind - not a fixed protocol.
In each session I aim to:
- Calm the system - massage helps ease pain and reduce nervous system sensitivity
- Build confidence - I'll help you understand your body so you can move without fear, even if you've had a worrying scan result
- Restore mobility - I'll draw on my martial arts and Pilates experience as well as my clinical training to help you move with ease and strength
Ready to get moving again?
I'm committed to an evidence-based, human approach to your health. If you're ready to stop managing pain and start building confidence in your body, please get in touch - I'd love to help.
Jules
